It’s already been established that laminating is the most effective way of increasing both the durability and appearance of your posters/signs/documents. Apart from choosing the right laminator, you also have to be aware that there are different types of laminating pouches available that vary in thicknesses (microns) to suit different applications. Pouches are sealed along the shortest side with the other 3 sides open for easy positioning of the document between the 2 layers.
If the laminating pouch has a thickness of 150micron (2 x 75-micron layers), then it’s suited to everyday lamination tasks.
A laminating pouch with a thickness of 360-micron (2 x 180-micron layers) is ideal where a more rigid finish is required, i.e., when the document is regularly handled.
Laminating pouches with 500-micron (2 x 250-micron layers) is extremely rigid. It allows documents to stand up, for example, menus.
GBC offer several special pouches, including:
Peel and Stick pouches: These come with a sticky back for easy creation of posters and signs.
Organise pouches: Extra wide and multi-punched for filing laminated documents.
